PLAYER NOTES
--RB Steven Jackson had another day of practice Thursday and it appears he will play Sunday against Arizona.
--DE Leonard Little remains questionable for Sunday's game after doing individual work Thursday, but very limited reps in team work. Little injured his hamstring Sunday against New England.
--DT Adam Carriker seems unlikely to play Sunday because of an ankle injury that caused him to miss last Sunday's game against New England. Carriker participated in individual drills Thursday, but had very limited reps in team.
--LT Orlando Pace was limited in team segments Thursday, but it was just an effort to give him some rest and give other players some reps.
--OL Adam Goldberg worked with the first unit at left tackle Thursday, and also got in some work at guard to limit the work of LT Orlando Pace and LG Jacob Bell, who have had some injury issues this season.
--CB Tye Hill returned to practice Wednesday as he returns from a knee injury. Hill is expected to be available for Sunday's game against Arizona, and while he would be the fifth cornerback, his presence might be needed because of the amount of times Arizona passes.
--FS Oshiomogho Atogwe has a slight thigh injury, but it did not prevent him from having full participation in Wednesday's practice.
GAME PLAN: Despite RB Tim Hightower's six touchdowns rushing, he has averaged just 2.7 yards per run and Edgerrin James has averaged 3.5. The Rams have to stop the run, and then figure out a way to get pressure on QB Kurt Warner. The Rams need DE Leonard Little available for this game to have a chance at getting to Warner.
Offensively, the Rams will try to attack Arizona's pass defense, which has allowed a 67.6 percent completion percentage against. They will be better able to do that if RB Steven Jackson is able to play.
MATCHUPS TO WATCH: Rams CBs Fakhir Brown and Ron Bartell vs. Cardinals WRs Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin -- This will be an enormous challenge for Brown and Bartell, who know they can't shut down Arizona's talented duo, but will try to eliminate big plays.
Rams pass blockers vs. Cardinals S Adrian Wilson -- Wilson has yet to record a sack this season, but he has been a thorn in the Rams' side in previous games with his blitzing. Not only do the Rams' blockers have to recognize blitzes, but young WRs Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton have to do the same so QB Marc Bulger has the chance to get the ball to them on "hot" reads.
INJURY IMPACT: The most important players for the Rams are nursing injuries: RB Steven Jackson and DE Leonard Little. Jackson keeps defenses honest, and Little helps create opportunities for everyone to get to the quarterback.
