PLAYER NOTES

--RB Steven Jackson was limited in practice because of a sore groin Wednesday, but is expected to do more in the final two practices of the week.

--LG Jacob Bell was back at practice with the first unit and is expected to start Sunday against Buffalo. Bell missed the last two games because of a hamstring injury.

--DE Leonard Little practiced on a limited basis in team segments Wednesday, and coaches hope he will be able to play on Sunday.

--CB Fakhir Brown was released Wednesday and replaced on the roster by Jason Craft.

--CB Jason Craft, who was released by the Saints on Sept. 16, was signed by the Rams Wednesday. In two of the seasons Craft was in New Orleans (2004-2005), Rams defensive coordinator Jim Haslett was the head coach.

--CB Tye Hill, who lost his starting job because of his struggles in the first two games of the season, returns to the starting lineup following the release of Fakhir Brown.

GAME PLAN: It's on the shoulders of QB Trent Green. Green will attempt to inject some life into a stagnant offense, and have it be contagious for the entire team. The offense doesn't trust the defense and the defense doesn't trust the offense.

The goal will be for Green to engineer some productivity in the first half where the Rams have been shut out in the first quarter and held to 12 points and 208 yards in the first half.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH: Rams CBs Tye Hill, Ron Bartell and Jason Craft vs. Bills WRs Lee Evans, Josh Reed and James Hardy -- Evans is averaging 20.3 yards per catch, and even though the rookie Hardy has just two receptions, one was a red-zone touchdown. Hill has struggled in the first three games, and Craft will likely be making his Rams' debut as a nickel back after just three days of practice.

Rams interior line of LG Jacob Bell, C Nick Leckey and RG Richie Incognito, vs. DTs Marcus Stroud and Kyle Williams: The Bills have eight sacks from seven different players and Stroud is the only player with two. Williams has one. The Rams' interior line will have to keep the rush away from QB Trent Green and create running room for RB Steven Jackson.

INJURY IMPACT: Getting LG Jacob Bell and DLE Leonard Little back from hamstring injuries should help both lines. Bell is expected to start, while Little will likely be used in a rotation at first to judge how effective he will be.
