--Cornerback Ron Bartell has been a bright spot on a struggling defense, but he takes little comfort in that.
"Personal success is hard when you are 2-12 and especially when you have the talent to be a much better football team," he said. "I think we have tons of talent on this team. We are just not getting it done to be honest. We have two more games left in the season and hopefully we will find a way to win these next two."
--The Seahawks had just 76 yards at halftime, and nearly 25 percent of their total offense came on the two big pass plays that led to Seattle's final 10 points.
Said cornerback Jason Craft, "It has been very frustrating all year. We need to continue playing hard so we can finish teams. We just have to keep fighting. I know we have two games left. I don't think I have ever been 2-12, but you know we are going to keep fighting no matter what."
--After winning his first two games as interim coach, Jim Haslett's Rams have now lost eight consecutive games.
Players know they have no control over what the organization decides to do when the season ends. Owner Chip Rosenbloom is in town until Tuesday, with decisions likely to be made in how the franchise will go forward. All signs appear to point to Billy Devaney becoming the general manager, with control over player personnel. The question is whether Devaney will be given the power to choose the team's next head coach.
Asked about the future, Bulger said, "We don't want to think about what's going to happen at the end of the year, but for the past seven or eight weeks now we've been trying to get him (Haslett) some wins. He's doing everything he can. I'm sure he wishes he could go out there and play and control his own fate, but I think players respect him and we'd like to see him here to help turn this around because I know he would do the job."
